£25,764 - £29,939 per annum pro rata

About the role:  

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Work Based Assessor to join our friendly Engineering department. You will be allocated a caseload of learners and will be responsible for their course assessment, review and to support and encourage them to complete their course work.

 In this role you’ll:

  • Adhere to the Work Based Learning contract as agreed between Swindon College, the National Apprenticeship Service and the Skills Funding Agency.
  • Work with the learner and the employer to ensure that all are aware of the requirements and complexities of the course
  • Recruitment to include interviewing and assessment of potential learners
  • Undertake the duties and responsibilities proportionate with the effective instruction and assessment of evidence from candidates in Engineering.
  • Liaise with College Tutors and Assessors to ensure that a learner’s progress is on target as set out in the learner’s Individual Learning Plan.

Requirements

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Level 3 occupational/professional qualification
  • A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or the commitment to gaining within 24 months
  • Knowledge and experience within the Carpentry or Brickwork industry
  • Knowledge and experience of onsite assessing
