Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering

Up to £34,000 per annum + £3,000 specialist STEM Industry Experience Payment

Full-Time Permanent

 

Are you looking to inspire our learners and guide them on their journey to a career within Mechanical Engineering? If you are looking to pass on your knowledge then we have an exciting new lecturing post in friendly Engineering department.

 

About the role:

In this role you’ll teach and guide our learners to gain their qualification in Mechanical Engineering which includes milling/turning, fitting and maintenance drawing. You’ll also be confident to teach CAD, mechanical principals, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and general Engineering.

 

This role involves teaching both theory and practical work, therefore you’ll need to have experience of training and mentoring learners and peers.  Confident to develop assignment and assessment material for learners in each specific programme, you want to produce engaging and creative schemes of work and lesson plans.

 

You’ll also be required to work in close partnership with BMW and Honda Apprentices as Swindon College supports these prestige companies.

Requirements

Qualifications and experience required:

Level 5 Teaching qualification (or a commitment to gaining. We will consider candidates that fall outside of this range if you can strongly demonstrate the required competencies.

Level 5/6 qualification in Engineering

Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or the commitment to gaining within 24 months

Relevant recent industry / delivery experience
